CMF -
Religious
Arbirtration in Ontario
Montreal-Quebec-Dec
22 2004)
Canadian Muslim Forum (CMF) expresses its satisfaction
to Mrs. Marion Boyd’s, former attorney general,
recommendations of granting the Muslim Community in
Ontario the same rights as other religious groups of
arbitration based on religious laws for family and
inheritance cases.
Mrs.
Boyd has truthfully addressed the concerns of the
majority of the Muslim population of Ontario to have
the access to religious arbitration and to experience
the privileges equal to all the other citizens of
Province.
Canadian
Muslim Forum (CMF) confirms the fact that Muslims
while seeking to enjoy their right of religious
arbitration, they will do this in respect and
conformity with the law of the land applied in the
province of Ontario and the federal law of Canada.
Canadian Muslim Forum (CMF) reminds the Ontario
Provincial government that Muslims are supposed to be
dealt with as full class citizens. In this regard,
the Canadian Muslim Forum urges the authorities to
apply Mrs. Boyd’s recommendations and not to fall
under the sway of the Islamophobia campaign and the
fear mongers who neither represent nor express the
concern of the majority of Muslim in the Province.
